At Zion we know that the kids of
the inner-city are geniuses. We’ve created an environment
where they can be successful by demonstrating their
abilities.
We
open their minds and introduce them to the world by
setting the stage for their future academic success. From
high school to higher education, Zion creates an environment of
possibility.
During the 2005-2006 school year, Zion’s middle school became
one of the first schools in the United States to utilize a
computer-based curriculum, Switched-On-Schoolhouse (SOS).
Students in the middle school use SOS for mathematics, reading,
and writing. The results of the first year using SOS were
significant
In
addition, 50% of the students in the middle school achieved a
grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Academic success is commonplace in Zion’s middle school. Each
student receives one-to-one interaction with a
teacher-to-student ration of 1 to 10. High expectations,
character building, and an emphasis on academic success now and
into high school and college are creating a middle school that
truly rivals other private schools.
Zion Preparatory Academy Middle
School is making a difference.
