The sponsor-a-student (SAS) breakfast is an
annual event designed to raise a large portion of the funds
necessary to run operations at Zion Prep Academy each fiscal year.
Through the years, it
has evolved into a
community event, encompassing not only the families, staff and
constituents of Zion, but the greater Seattle community at large.

While enjoying a delicious breakfast, the
crowd interacts with the Zion children, hears from a different
inspirational speaker each year and sees the fruits of Zion’s labors
through a creative video. It is the objective at each breakfast
that if an attendee walked in that morning knowing nothing about the
school, upon leaving, they’d have a thorough understanding of Zion’s
mission.
It is also Zion’s goal to increase its base of
support by maintaining and encouraging past and current constituents
while cultivating new ones. These constituents range from
individuals, to corporations to family foundations.
Since the funds raised at this event are
critical to Zion’s financial stability throughout the year,
sponsorships and individual donations are essential to its overall
success.

In addition to the financial rewards are the
rewards realized by the partnerships that are created and reinforced
at each breakfast between the school staff, the students, the
parents, the donors and the community in which Zion serves. The one
common goal by all is to provide a loving, accepting environment
where children are led to reach their highest potentials and beyond.
Due to this foundation and legacy, the Zion
Prep breakfast is famous in the city of Seattle and many other such
events have used it as a model in developing their own similar
efforts.
